Electrical Engineer

Nexergy, a leading designer and assembler of custom battery packs and chargers, is seeking a degreed Electrical Engineer with design experince in battery packs and chargers along with strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers and team members to determine how to address customer needs.
• Design the electronics required to address customer requirements. Applications are in portable power, which includes battery electronics (smart and non-smart), chargers, etc.
• Verify performance of battery packs and chargers.
• Interface effectively with Mechanical Engineering, Test Engineeting, Project Management, and other design team members in the development of the new product, through transfer to production.
• Document the design.
• Work within our ISO approved product development process.
• Communicate effectively with customers as needed.
• Solve problems which may be discovered through testing, customer return, etc.

Education and Training

• BSEE degree (minimum).

Acquired Skills, Experience and Technical Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience designing battery and charger electronics, or power supplies.
• Product development experience.
• Experience with popular IC’s used in battery and charging circuits, including TI, Linear Tech, Dallas Semi, Seiko, etc.
• Knowledge of the different charging methods for the various battery chemistries used in portable products.
• Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools. Ideally, expertise with Allegro Capture and PCB Editor software.
• Experience in micro-controller based design and programming is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
